Welcome to Our New Poems Page

Beginning with the new century, we want to add a new category to our poetry pages. We are so fortunate to have such great talent across the land as listed on our Poetry And More Website pages. We want to highlight new poets (to us) on this page. These poets may have been writing for years, but they are just making contact with us.

Here are a few of the latest poems. This site has been updated from its original Poetry And More format.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit God has given
Is the source of all His gifts,
You can't give without receiving,
Fruit that only He can give.

If you truly want to share love,
But the love you share you force,
You can only freely give it
If you seek it from it's source.

If you want to feel true joy
That will stay and not depart,
Ask the Holy Spirit
For God's joy in your heart.

If you want true peace through turmoil,
That is often hard to find,
Ask the Holy Spirit,
He can give you peace devine.

If you feel a servant spirit,
But you don't know how to serve,
First become a servant,
That's what's written in God's word.

If you treat your fellow man,
The same as you want to be,
Then others will see the gentleness
That He has given thee.

If you want to give but don't know how,
Just don't know what to do,
Give out of trust, and out of love,
That God has given you.

If we accept the meekness,
That He's given you and me,
We will keep moving forward
With our Savior in the lead.

All these fruits we can have through faith
If we ask the Holy Spirit,
To help us all with God's love and care,
To seek, and not to fear it.

THROUGH SICKNESS AND HEALTH

I need your support
simply because I am your wife.
I was reading the bible last night
and found the story Jesus told the Pharisees...

"Have you not read that
He who made them at the beginning
`made them male and female,'
and said, `For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh'?
So then, they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
let not man separate."

Presently, I am weak in mind and body,
but I am seeking my inner strength
and finding it with God.
You know this,
because I've been sharing it with you.

I need you to support me
by not pushing me before I'm ready,
and by being there for me
when I need your presence.
I need to make my own decisions
based upon my own needs,
because I am the one
who knows myself the best.

I need the truth from you.
I don't need any lies, half-truths, or secrecy.
Nothing to turn the picture gray.
This will assist me in building
my foundation of trust in you,
which I have always struggled with.
I want this trust more than you know,
but it is difficult for me to trust anyone
because of the many trespasses of my past.

I need you to learn about my illness
so that you can truly see
and understand for yourself what is going on.
I believe that if you understand it,
you will then know how
to give the support that I need.

I need you to be strong,
which you are.
I know I will need to lean on your strength
from time to time,
probably more often than I realize.

I need the room to spread my wings and fly.
I am changing for the better.
I am not going to ask for permission to be me anymore.
I am going to listen to my heart, my intuitions, and God.
Don't worry, because He is protecting me.

I would like you to pray for me
and simply love me unconditionally.
I love you and thank you for all your support.

HE IS WITH ME

Lord, I know You are with me night and day.
I ask that You will always teach me Your way.
When I am down and out, alone and blue.
Only You can bring me through.

Through all the tears, pain and sorrow.
You have promised to be with me tomorrow,.
Without You I am the least of men.
For You, my Lord, removed my sin.

I shall praise You night and day.
My prayer is that I always follow Your way.
Help me to be all I need to be.
Lord, I thank You for strengthening me.

THE HIGHEST ECHELON OF LOVE

There is something magical of love in high places, and holy to those of us who are
blessed with the perfect love.
For we understand the majestic laws of our Father, about giving all that we have to give
of ourselves.
He has revealed the mountain that we must ascend, through obedience and praise of His
holy name.

Let us climb that holy magical mountain together, and share in the glory of our Father
with angelic spirit.
Let the heavenly hosts join us in song as we scream out our love, and echo our vows to
the valleys below.
Let us hold hands as we unite in total submission to God the Father, God the Son; and
God the Holy Spirit.

There is perfection at the highest echelon of love, and serenity to those of us blessed with
a quiet and gentle spirit.
For we understand that perfect love is Spirit to the Father, a precious moment to rejoice
in our love for each other.
He has revealed to us for the first time, that His love is Spirit, and Spirit is life. Love life
to be loved. Live love to live.

GOD'S LESSONS FOR THE SOUL

Faith gives us wings to fly freely knowing that we will never fall.

Hope is what keeps us moving perpetually forward,
never loosing sight of our dreams,
the opportunities to use all the talents
that God has given us to share with everyone.

Love ignites the powerful flame within our hearts
that feeds us with everlasting strength.

Patience appropriately refers to the Patience of a Saint,
because patience is kind and considerate,
and it waits for one to evolve into the beautiful soul that it is meant
to be.

Courage requires faith in our intentions and enables us to act upon them.
It demands strength, spirit, boldness, and audacity,
which empowers us to denounce weakness, despondency, shame, and fear.
It is what heroes are made of.

Trust exists to enhance the growth of unconditional love.
For love comes first, but trust is a constant need for love to blossom
and permeate the universe with its fragrance.

Compassion indulges patience, embraces charity, and radiates virtue.
It never fails to emulate consideration, tact, sympathy, and mercy.

Reverence for God feeds everlasting hope,
as we joyfully anticipate our glorious future in Heaven.

I hope to have all these qualities as I follow the Lord and make
footprints in the sand. Amen.

WHO AM I?

You carry me around!
I mess up your life,
I tear away your friendships,
I can cause lots of strife.

When I talk about you!
hate comes through,
and all day long
I eat at you.

Year after year
you will hear me say,
"Hold it all in"
you are the one who wants me to stay.

DON'T FORGIVE NOW! WAIT A LONG WHILE.

You know I resent you, I have no regret,
NO I'M NOT A DEMON, I'm not that bad yet.

I hold heavy burdens like you've never felt,
and carry a sense of injury under my belt.

IF YOU HAVEN'T GUESSED ME!

"GRUDGE" is my name,
I will hurt you all exactly the same.

You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people,
but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

TERRY

To my husband, my life, my lover, my friend
Love me now and again to the end
Faithful to us, always be true
Keep me so close, air can't pass thru
Stay and embrace me, till death do us part
Never you stay ,too far from my heart
In exchange for this, what can I give?
Your my heart, my soul, the reason to live!
My life for your love, what's better than this
Ever lasting bliss, warm hugs and your kiss
Touch and caress, is what I desire
Love and romance, you set me on fire!
Sweetness like this, it couldn't be wrong
Life without you, is empty and long
Remember your promise, of love forever
Don't leave me now, tomorrow or never

IN YOUR EYES

As I look in to your eyes,
I see emptiness.

You're no longer the person I knew,
You're so cold hearted now.

Whatever happened to you.

You look at the world,
And you see nothing.

I look at the world,
And see everything.

You look at people,
And you judge them.

I look at people,
And see them for them not for anything else.

When I look into your eyes,
I want to cry because you're no longer yourself.

You care what other people think about you now,
The old you didn't.

I don't love the new you,
I loved the old you.

I loved you for your careless of what people thought.

Why can't I have the old you back,
I miss him so bad.

You taught me how to care for others,
You change me for the better.

Now I have to change you to a better person once again.

You used to look at the world,
And see everything.

I used to look at the world,
And see nothing.

You used to look at people,
And see warm hearts.

I used to look at people,
And see other person to hurt me.

You changed me,
Into a loving person.

Now I have to do that to you,
Like you did to me.

But please let me close to you again,
And how do you change someone that loves the new him?

A GOOD FRIEND

What would life be
Without a good friend
I fear that for me
It would be the end

Someone to lean on
Someone to talk to
Someone to tell all my
Troubles and thoughts to

Someone to comfort me
Someone to hold me
Someone to tell me
It'll all be okay

A friend to play with
A friend to stay with
A friend who knows me
And who understands me

A good friend is a necessity
Without one where would we be?

MY FRIENDS

One two three,
Friends like you and me,
Two three and four,
What are friends for?
Three four and five,
The joy of being alive,
Four five and six,
What can we do for kicks?
Five six and seven,
I wonder is there really a heaven?
Six seven and eight,
What is our fate?
Seven eight and nine,
I hope today my friend you are fine,
Eight nine and ten,
I hope we remain friends, and will meet again.

"IN REMEMBRANCE"

I know you,
What you have seen,
felt, heard and known.
Painful moments, thoughts and dreams
The joyful memories
And things unseen.
Can't you remember the days
Not long ago
You were there,
with me
I still remember times
when we would play
Please try to think
Oh please, oh please Remember me!

A SAFE PLACE WITH GOD

I took a walk with GOD yesterday afternoon and found my safe place.
I no longer have to conjure it up in my mind, for now I can visit it
every day.
I walked down into the forest where the trees were cleared,
and the leaves were turning the many shades of fall color.

There was a wide, open, winding path trailing off to the right
that led to somewhere and it beckoned me with alluring invitation.
To the left was the dense forest with a small, narrow path
winding through it, made by the wild deer.

I chose to go left first.
I thought it would be adventuresome
and perhaps I would come in contact with some deer.
Little critters scurried around playfully and I smiled.

As I crept deeper into the forest, the trees and bushes
were washed with a multitude of color and the birds sang sweetly,
but I became a little apprehensive, for fear of getting lost
and I told myself, "Just a little bit further."

I whispered quietly, "I'm safe and nothing is going to happen to me,
but next time I need to bring something to mark the path
so I can go deeper and be sure to find my way back out safely.
I looked back occasionally, and the leaf-covered path was beginning
to look no different than any other path, so I finally turned back
around.

As I emerged, I crossed the tiniest creek
where fresh deer marks laid in the mud next to the water.
I used a rock to cross and avoid muddying my black suede shoes.
Then, I listened closely and looked ahead to the clearing
where there was light far beyond that seemed to be calling me.

My eyes were seeing, my heart was singing,
and my soul was smiling because I sensed its familiarity.
It looked like my safe place; as I listened, my hearing became acute.
As I walked along, I was drawn closer to the water
and became more aware of all the colors surrounding me.

I began to notice the mixture of color, not just the fall colors,
but the left over colors from blooming flowers of summer still surviving.
I gazed upon the stream of water at my feet; it seemed so small,
as it curved along the path with me.

Off in the distance, I saw a ray of light,
poking through an opening in the trees,
casting a bright spot down upon the grass.
Arriving at the spot, I suddenly heard the water
trickling softly in the tiny stream along side me.

I was awestricken because I could only hear
the water when I stood in the light.
When I walked away from the light,
I no longer heard the water.

I eagerly listened more intently, opened my eyes wider,
and tried to absorb everything that was happening.
I kept walking, listening, and looking ahead,
knowing that my safe place was just beyond.

I came upon a place where the light shone more brightly than before,
and there were birds in flight all around me;
suddenly the water trickled loudly.
I knew this was the place, so I sat down
and the peace and beauty began to unfold.

Two birds were perched on a limb
and as I watched them flap their wings,
I could hear their feathers fluttering loudly.
My heart leapt with joy.

I looked up at the blue sky framed with the fall-covered leaves
and watched the thin brush painted white clouds sail by.
Time seemed to stand still.
I watched the many different species of birds flying about,
and sometimes I could hear their flapping wings fluttering in the wind.

My hearing was so acute and I was amazed at the most beautiful gift
GOD was sharing with me.
I thanked HIM and continued to linger
as it washed across my entire body and soul.

I heard a quiet knocking sound and began searching for it
with all my being until I found the tiny bird
knocking on the tall tree above my head.
The knocking grew louder and louder and I knew it was GOD.

The trickle coming from the water was so loud
and the sun bathed me in her warmth.
As I sat there, a great gust of wind blew through
and shook the trees in front of me.

I could see the leaves fluttering as the wind tickled them
and they shook with laughter.
The sight and sound was glorious,
each little leaf laughing with pleasure.

Of course, the wind started in behind me.
I said, "Who's there?" knowing it was the SPIRIT OF GOD.
Suddenly, I wanted to shout Hello and I did.
"Hello.. hello...hello..." I echoed.
Then, I shouted my name and it echoed too.

I thought...how will I find this same spot again?
I should have known, should have anticipated an answer.
There was a pink ribbon tied on a tree next to the water,
to always show me the way.
I was moved beyond words, so I began to gather gifts
from this place to take home.

I had brought a brightly colored daisy coffee cup, which was now empty.
I began gathering leaves, ferns, and wild flowers
bursting with summer colors,
as I walked along the narrow body of water.

I noticed patches of clover growing next to the edge of the water.
I thought, "there must be a four-leaf clover here,
for I am so lucky right now,"
and I searched for it.

Suddenly, I looked at the three-leaf clover and realized
that I had found what I was searching for.
The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
How absolutely thrilled I was.

Then I was moved to fill the cup with the water flowing in the stream.
The water would cleanse the soul and nourish it, for it was clean.
I kept gathering more color and continued
listening as I walked out from the safe place.
I had to climb a hill, and the light shone brightly upon me as I came
forward.

Briskly, I walked home and found Paul watering the newly seeded lawn.
He had been at the job for quite some time.
He inquired about where his dark haired beauty had been.
I told him, "I went for a walk in the woods and I found my safe place."

I told him about the birds and how acute my hearing had been.
I told him how loud the water had trickled
and I asked him if he was outside
when the strong gusts of wind came blowing through.
He said there was no wind and I smiled.

I told him that I was going to be fine now
and that GOD was the one who would protect me.
I told him not to worry, just be here and support me.
He wondered if I was becoming a naturalist
and I smiled...remembering my safe place.
